This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to use, clean and maintain towing equipment in accordance with regulations, workplace procedures and workplace requirements.

It includes carrying out pre-operation checks on equipment, carrying out basic routine servicing of equipment, using towing equipment, cleaning equipment, and recording and reporting check results.

Persons achieving competence in this unit will need to fulfil relevant work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) legislation and regulations covering using, cleaning and basic servicing of a towing vehicle and equipment concerned.

Work is performed under limited supervision.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Towing vehicle is cleaned using appropriate cleaning materials and tools in accordance with workplace procedures
